New LHC Plots with 40/pb

Some plots of data from the LHC using the full 40/pb are starting to show up including this dimuon plot from ATLAS

This was from a talk by Vato Kartvelishvili at a “Physics Day” colloquium in CERN today.

  1. Luboš Motl says:

The graph looks disappointingly silent on the right side, for such a huge luminosity. Of course, I know that the Higgs – and SUSY guys etc. – don’t couple to muon pairs too much but it’s annoying to see $10 billion graphs with nothing new in them, anyway. 😉

    • Philip Gibbs says:

In theory a top-anti-top state should appear off to the right but perhaps this channel is not the best for high masses. Dijets may be more promising which could be why we don’t see those plots yet.
